Will my order incur U.S. import tariffs?
From August 29, 2025, all shipments to the United States will be subject to customs duties and formal entry requirements—regardless of order value. This is due to changes in U.S. tariff rules that remove the duty-free threshold for small parcels.
What happened to the 'de minimis' limit?
The ‘de minimis’ duty-free limit of US$800 will no longer apply from August 29, 2025. All shipments will now require customs clearance and may incur additional fees.
How will I be charged for duties and fees?
To make things easier, we will now collect U.S. import duties and customs fees at checkout, along with postage costs. Your order will be shipped Delivered Duties Paid (DDP), meaning these charges are pre-paid and you should not be asked to pay anything further on delivery.
However, because customs decisions are not always predictable, there may be rare occasions where additional charges are applied.
Are the new U.S. tariffs affecting pet supplies?
We are still working closely with our carriers to understand the impact on pet products and shipping costs. Once we have more clarity, we will update our website with the finalised details.
Will I be asked to do anything when my parcel arrives?
Under the new tariff rules, U.S. Customs may require additional processing for all shipments. We will provide updated instructions once we confirm the new procedures with our carriers.
I’ve seen news about changing import laws—should I be worried?
We understand this is a big change. We are committed to minimising the impact on our customers and will share updates as soon as we have confirmed information.
Are duties and fees refundable if I return my order?
Please note that U.S. import duties, customs fees, and shipping charges are non-refundable once your order has shipped.
If your order is cancelled before dispatch, we can issue a full refund, including duties, fees, and shipping costs.
Exception: Refunds may only be issued if the order is cancelled before dispatch, or if Atlantic Pet Products is responsible for an error, such as a lost shipment or an incorrectly fulfilled order.
